Bhubaneswar, June 24 {UDN}: The Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Department is continuing a statewide artificial insemination program for goats. Odisha has become the first state in the country to implement such a statewide goat artificial insemination initiative.
In this program, semen from indigenous breeds such as Black Bengal and Ganjam is being used. Through the use of superior germplasm, higher-weight and better-quality goat kids are being born.
