Officials Urge Eligible Beneficiaries to Enroll in Government Schemes and Access Development Opportunities and Financial Assistance

Nandahandi,June, 23 {UDN}:  On the occasion of the completion of two years of the Odisha Government and twelve years of the Central Government, the “Bikashara Dhara Odisha Sara” programme was inaugurated on Tuesday at Nandahandi and Raighar in Nabarangpur district. The seven-day event aims to create awareness about various welfare schemes and development initiatives undertaken by both governments.

During the programme, guests informed the public about a range of government schemes and explained how these initiatives have contributed to the social and economic development of ordinary citizens. People were encouraged to take full advantage of the benefits available under these schemes.

At the event held in the Nandahandi Panchayat Samiti premises, MLA Gouri Shankar Majhi attended as the chief guest. Other dignitaries present included Special Development Council Vice-Chairman Lingaraj Bhatra, Block Vice-Chairman Sadan Gouda, Minister’s representative Jagadish Bisoyi, MP’s representative Janakikanta Bisoyi, Tahasildar Chandradas Mahanandia, and District Welfare Officer Rabindra Palaka. BDO Kshirod Chandra Sahu presided over the programme, while Bichitra Satapathy coordinated the proceedings.

Awareness stalls were set up by various government departments. Women’s groups displayed traditional cakes, local cuisine, and indigenous products. Students from Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and Other Backward Class schools who had achieved outstanding results in the current academic year were felicitated.

The programme also honoured the best Anganwadi workers, ASHA workers, Lakhpati Didis, progressive farmers, and social workers of the block. The Nandahandi Tahasil distributed land pattas for the construction of two permanent houses. ORMAS and APCO distributed leaflets highlighting various government schemes aimed at empowering farmers and women.
At the Raighar event, the chief guest was Odisha School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond. Other dignitaries included MP’s representative Pritidha Mahapatra, Minister’s representative Shibanath Banerjee, and Block Chairman Gupta Prasad Jhankar. The Minister highlighted several welfare and development schemes of the Odisha Government and urged citizens to benefit from them.

As part of the programme, stalls representing all government departments were set up within the block premises to educate and create awareness among the public about the services and benefits available through different government initiatives.

The event showcased the government's commitment to inclusive development, citizen welfare, and grassroots awareness, while providing a platform for direct interaction between the administration and the people.
