Bhubaneswar,  June 23 {UDN}:  Hari Babu Kambhampati reviewed the progress and future roadmap of Odisha's Water Resources sector during a meeting at Lok Bhavan today.

The Governor emphasized the expansion of solar-powered irrigation systems under the PM-KUSUM Scheme. He highlighted that wider adoption of solar irrigation can significantly reduce farming costs, increase farmers' incomes, and contribute to India's renewable energy objectives.

He also stressed the importance of sustainable water management practices, timely completion of ongoing irrigation projects, and the creation of livelihood opportunities linked to the water resources sector. These measures, he noted, are essential for ensuring long-term water security and promoting prosperity in rural areas across the state.

The Governor called for coordinated efforts among stakeholders to strengthen irrigation infrastructure, improve water-use efficiency, and support the socio-economic development of farming communities in Odisha.
