District-Level Coordination Committee Reviews Third-Phase Data of the 11th Agricultural Census in Nabarangpur

Nabarangpur:June 24 {UDN}:   A district-level coordination committee meeting on the third phase of the 11th Agricultural Census was held today at the local Ashok Mehta Conference Hall under the chairmanship of Additional District Magistrate (Revenue) Bishwajit Chandra Barman.

During the meeting, a detailed review was conducted on the data collected from the third phase survey of the Agricultural Census. It was stated that after approval at the district level, the data will be sent to the Central Government. Based on this data, effective plans and policies will be formulated for the development of the agricultural sector.

The third phase survey was carried out using the 2022–23 reference year to collect reliable and comprehensive information on agriculture in Nabarangpur district. The survey included data on the number of farmers, landholding size, use of fertilizers and pesticides, crop insurance, soil health, agricultural mechanization, seeds, irrigation facilities, farmers’ income, and the number of small, marginal, and medium farmers. Information was also collected on animal husbandry, fisheries, horticulture, and agricultural credit.

The survey covered 67 selected sample villages in the district and was completed on October 14, 2025. During the meeting, AD (Planning) Aishwarya Bhanj presented the survey findings through a slide presentation.

Officials present at the meeting included DD, DPMU Jayantimala Nayak, CDAO Sudhir Ranjan Behera, CDVO Dr. Ramesh Chandra Behera, DDH Subrat Mohanty, D I P R O Manoj Behera, D R C S Sarat Chandra Panigrahi, ADH Subhendu Biswas, and ADVO Dilip Kumar Kabiraj, among others.

It was also emphasized in the meeting that accurate data collection and analysis in the agricultural sector will help in formulating more effective future policies for farmers.
