Dhenkanal, Sept 3 [UDN}:  In a unique initiative aimed at improving the public distribution system and making essential food supplies more accessible, the government has introduced a facility through which residents of Dhenkanal can now withdraw rice from an ATM-like machine instead of money.

Dhenkanal has become the third location in Odisha to receive such a facility. The newly installed Grain ATM, also known as a Rice ATM, has been set up near Kunjakanta in Dhenkanal town.

The facility was formally inaugurated by Odisha’s Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister, Krushna Chandra Patra. The initiative is expected to make the distribution of rice more convenient, efficient, and transparent for eligible beneficiaries.

With this new system, beneficiaries will be able to access their allotted rice through an automated mechanism, marking another step towards the use of technology in the delivery of essential commodities and public welfare services.
